The idea is solid, the game looks well-made enough, and the price is right. There are more than 70 levels to clear, and you can pull in a second player to help you out via local multiplayer. The gimmick is that you can set some of the robots to loop certain actions while you take control of another one, an essential skill for making progress. It’s an action-puzzler where you control some robots and try to get through each area. This isn’t going to be for everyone, or even most, but if you’re in the right mood this might work for you. Each playthrough will show a different arrangement of scenes, so you’re meant to go through the game multiple times to see it all. The premise sees you making your way through the dreams and memories that come out of a conversation between a grandfather and his grandchild. Interactive art piece, maybe? Whatever you want to call it, Promesa is quite interesting. This is what I would usually call an ‘experience game’, but it feels like it’s even pushing the boundaries of that definition.
